"After 9-5" for sho and electronics (2021)
Music: Francesca Le Lohé Words: Charlotte Wührer Created through an ongoing exchange between Sound & Word Network members Francesca Le Lohé (composer) and Charlotte Wührer (writer). The exchange began when Francesca composed a new short work for solo sho in response to Charlotte’s fiction work “Nine-to-Five”. Charlotte then wrote new text in response to this music, which was then passed back to Francesca to respond to with more new music etc. This “back-and-forth” of inspiration culminated in the piece “After 9-5”. The premiere was held at the experimental music event ‘Assorted Sounds’ @ OTOOTO, Tokyo (February 2021). ‘Assorted Sounds’ was organised by Francesca and fellow Sound & Word Network member, Tomoko Hojo (sound artist). With guests Atsumi Kojima (sho) and Chiho Oka (sound artist), the event presented new work and improvisational performances.
