"After 9-5" for sho and electronics (2021)
Music: Francesca Le Lohé Words: Charlotte Wührer
Created through an ongoing exchange between Sound & Word Network members Francesca Le Lohé (composer) and Charlotte Wührer (writer). The exchange began when Francesca composed a new short work for solo sho in response to Charlotte’s fiction work “Nine-to-Five”. Charlotte then wrote new text in response to this music, which was then passed back to Francesca to respond to with more new music etc. This “back-and-forth” of inspiration culminated in the piece “After 9-5”.
The premiere was held at the experimental music event ‘Assorted Sounds’ @ OTOOTO, Tokyo (February 2021). ‘Assorted Sounds’ was organised by Francesca and fellow Sound & Word Network member, Tomoko Hojo (sound artist). With guests Atsumi Kojima (sho) and Chiho Oka (sound artist), the event presented new work and improvisational performances.
An international collective of sound and word artists.
